This activity is perfect if you want to get a quick overview of Interlaken! The funicular railroad station is located only 5 minutes from the Interlaken Ost train station and the train takes you to the top of Interlaken’s local mountain within 10 minutes. At 1’322 m above sea level, there is a platform that offers you a great view over Interlaken, the two lakes and the famous three peaks Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau. Satisfy your hunger and thirst at the Panorama Restaurant. One of the most beautiful high-altitude hikes in Switzerland also starts from here, leading over the Hardergrat to the Augstmatthorn.

This activity takes a bit of time, but if you are staying in Interlaken for a few days, be sure to visit the Jungfraujoch! From Interlaken, the train takes you to the highest train station in Europe at 3454 m above sea level in just 2 hours. The first highlight is already the train ride itself, which leads along roaring rivers and lush green meadows. Once you arrive at the Jungfraujoch, a breathtaking view of the Aletsch Glacier and the surrounding four-thousand-meter peaks of the Bernese and Valais Alps awaits you! River Rafting for adventurers

This tour takes you to the 14 cascades of the Giessbach Falls and is packed with a unique ride, 360° spins and a teeny bit of adrenaline.

A round trip through the Lauterbrunnen Valley

You want to discover the surrounding mountains and valleys? Then take a round trip through the Lauterbrunnen Valley. The valley is known for its 72 waterfalls and the striking rock walls that rise 600 meters vertically above the valley floor. In just 30 minutes, the train will take you from Interlaken to the Lauterbrunnen station. There, change to the gondola that will take you up to Grütschalp. During the ride you will have a wonderful view of the famous Staubbach Falls, which tumble over the rocks. Either hike from Grütschalp to Mürren (about 1h 15m) or take the train. Stroll through the car-free village of Mürren and enjoy the breathtaking view of the surrounding snow mountains. Afterwards, take the gondola to Stechelberg. From there you can take the post bus to Lauterbrunnen. Be sure to ask at the train station in Interlaken for a round trip ticket that includes all means of transportation.

Easy hike in Grindelwald

Are you looking for sports activities during your stay in Interlaken? Then a hike in the Swiss Alps is a MUST-DO! The hike from the First to the Bachalpsee is just the right thing for you if you like to take it easy and enjoy the magnificent view! From Interlaken, take the train to Grindelwald (30 minutes travel time). At the train station you can either take the bus or walk to the base station of the First gondola. Ride up the mountain with the impressive Eiger north face in view. Once at the top, take the well-maintained hiking trail to Bachalpsee. Many benches along the way invite you to rest. Either take the same way back or extend the hike as you like.
